Our Story

We fix shoes. A lot of them. Since 2006, we’ve repaired over 80,000 pairs of climbing shoes, mountain boots, and other sports footwear. That’s a lot of gear you’ve helped us keep alive. Climbers have always cared about the mountains. And with great climbing comes great responsibility: climb bold, leave a small footprint. For us, that means repairing our shoes.

Why Repairing is Better
Than Buying New

Making a brand-new pair of climbing shoes isn’t exactly kind to the planet. It takes energy, rubber, leather, and synthetic materials, and the whole process carries real environmental costs.

Resoling, on the other hand:

Reduces waste:

Our repairs save tens of thousands of climbing shoes (about 5,000 kg) from the trash every year.

Reduces materials:

Soles, rand, buckles, straps, stitching… we fix what’s worn and leave the rest alone.
That’s a fraction of the materials a brand-new shoe needs.

Reduces energy:

A resole has far less environmental impact than a new shoe.
La Sportiva’s lifecycle analysis estimates that a resole has only ~6–10% of the footprint of a new pair.

Gives shoes a longer life:

Quality climbing shoes can usually be resoled 1–3 times.
That keeps the materials and energy that were invested working longer.

Real-World Benefits

More affordable: We care more about craftsmanship than bargain pricing. Still, resoling is almost always cheaper than buying a new premium pair.

Broken-in fit: Breaking in new shoes hurts. Unless you bought them way too big (in which case, different problem). Why not keep the pair that already fits?

EU-wide: You don’t have to live next door. We accept repairs from anywhere in the EU.
