CLIMBING SHOES
I have never had my climbing shoes repaired before. What kind of repair do I need?

You can also send your climbing shoes to SHOEDOCTOR for repair and leave it to our discretion – we will find the most appropriate and convenient solution for you.
What does leaving the repair to SHOEDOCTOR’s discretion mean?
We will choose the type of repair that is most appropriate for your climbing shoes and convenient for you.
The rubber will be replaced with an original (Vibram, Five Ten) or its closest equivalent. Rands and other parts will be replaced according to their wear.

How long does it take to repair climbing shoes?
The repair takes 10-20 business days.
Which brands of climbing shoe do you repair?
We resole all brands of climbing shoes.
How many times is it reasonable to repair climbing shoes?
A repair is reasonable as long as the basic parts (leather, fabric, straps, etc.) of the climbing shoes are in good condition.
What does a “1/3 resole” mean?
We will replace the first third of the old worn rubber.
This type of replacement is possible for climbing shoes with a full sole.
What does a “front resole” mean?
We will replace the complete front part of the old worn rubber. In this way we can ensure a quality repair.
This type of replacement is possible for climbing shoes with a split sole.
What does a “complete resole” mean?
We will replace the entire lower rubber. Original La Sportiva/Scarpa parts are used.
This type of replacement is possible for climbing shoes with a full sole.
What is a rand?
A rand is the front upper rubber, protecting the toes.
Can you replace the rand only (without the sole)?
This type of replacement is not possible.
When isn’t it possible to replace only a 1/3 of the sole?
The first third of the worn rubber can be replaced on climbing shoes with a full sole.
If your climbing shoes have a split sole, this type of repair is not possible.
Which rubber do you use when repairing climbing shoes?
We use Vibram rubber compounds.
Vibram XS EDGE – a stiffer rubber that delivers excellent precision grip on the smallest edges
Vibram XS GRIP 2 – a softer rubber, great for friction climbing
What are original La Sportiva / Scarpa parts?
These are original soles made specifically for every climbing shoe model.
Is it possible to repair only one climbing shoe?
A single shoe can only be repaired in the case of a 1/3 resole. However, it is not recommended, because usually the other climbing shoe is also worn.

We will replace the sole with original Vibram soles of various types. Rands and other parts will be replaced according to their wear.
How long does it take to repair the shoes?
A shoe repair takes 4-7 business days.
Which brands of footwear do you repair?
We resole all brands of mountaineering and hiking shoes and boots.
What type of sole do you use?
For mountaineering boots (boots for semi-automatic and automatic crampons) we use original La Sportiva parts with Vibram soles (Vibram® Mulaz and Vibram® Matterhorn). For hiking boots and shoes, we use Vibram® Bifida. For sports shoes, we use 3 types of Vibram® soles (Foura, Zegama and Overland), which have different characteristics and purposes.
What is a rand?
A rand is the front upper rubber, protecting the toes.
When should the rand be replaced?
The upper protective rubber should be replaced when the shoes show excessive wear and tear (holes, etc.).
When should the plastic part of boots for automatic crampons be replaced?
The plastic part should be replaced when it is excessively worn (the front edge is gone). The sole cannot be replaced in the case of such wear, and it is not safe to use automatic crampons.
Can you give me advice before the repair?
You can email us a photo of the shoes or boots from the side, and we will let you know the type of repair required and the approximate price.

The price for the repair depends on the type, wear and additional repairs of the shoes. If you wish, you can email us some photos of the worn shoes before the repair. Based on these, we will let you know an approximate price for the repair.
SHIPPING (EUROPEAN UNION)
I would like to send you my shoes for repair. What should I do?
Please fill in the form on our website. In the next few business days, the courier service will pick up the parcel at your address, and later, when the shoes are repaired, drop it off.
What is Pick&Return?
Pick&Return is a service for picking up and dropping off your parcels.
You can place your order by filling in a form on our website, and the courier service will pick up the parcel at your address.
How should I pack the shoes before the pick-up?
Your footwear should be packed in a cardboard box, closed firmly and secured with tape. The courier service will provide a label with the address.
How long does it take to pick up/drop off the parcel?
The time of the pick-up and drop-off depends on the responsiveness and organization of the GLS courier service in your country and the distance of your country from Slovenia. It varies greatly and depends on individual European countries.
I am not at home in the mornings. Can the parcel be picked up at work?
When filling in our form, please provide an address where the courier service can pick up/drop off your parcel by 14:00.

How can I pay for a repair?
You can pay via credit card or bank transfer. After the repair, we will email you an invoice and payment information. Your parcel will be shipped when we have received your payment.

I would like to send you my shoes for repair. What should I do?
The Pick&Return service is available only in EU countries, so you will have to send us the shoes yourself. Please fill in the form on our website, and we will email you further instructions on how and where to send your shoes.
